"We Should Split Up” Translates to “Never See Each Other Again"
IDAHO FALLS, ID — A routine group hunt reportedly ended in the usual way Saturday after someone said the phrase, “We should split up and cover more ground.”
Experts confirm this is outdoor code for: “Good luck, I hope you enjoyed our brief friendship.”
Within minutes, the group had fully disbanded into independent units, each last seen walking confidently in different directions for no clear reason.
“We’ll Regroup at the Truck”
Authorities say this phrase is also known to be fictional.
One hunter was last seen texting “I think I’m close” while standing in the exact same spot for 40 minutes.
Another reportedly “heard something big” and has not been heard from since.
Communication Quickly Devolved
Group messages included:
“Any luck?”
“You see anything?”
“Battery’s low”
All interpreted as: no.
By late afternoon, the group had successfully covered more ground than ever before—and successfully seen each other less than ever before.
At press time, all parties agreed it was a “great hunt” and immediately said:
“We should do this again sometime.”
